JETT-Track GPS fleet service tracking units are helping customers save in one very important area these days: their fuel bill. Your company can save some serious coin on your fleet's fuel bill using our GPS tracking units and software.

How? We'll use a fleet of 45 service fleet vehicles in our examples below.

1. Speed alerts

Let's say JETT-Track catches five of your drivers consistently going 15 MPH over the highway speed limit (65 MPH) and another ten consistently going 10 MPH too fast. Fueleconomy.org reports that you pay an additional $.20 for every 5 MPH you drive over 60 MPH. So, those 15 drivers are costing you between 40 and 80 cents per gallon every day. Monitoring their driving can put an end to that.

This will save you an average of 15% off your fleet's fuel bill every month.

2. Stop excessive idling

JETT-Track's easy to use software gives you idle-time reports. Yes, excessive idling leads to excessive spending. Forty five vehicles each idling 10 minutes per day eats a half gallon of gas per driver.

That's 450 gallons of fuel your fleet is wasting - 5% you could be saving every month.

3. Catch employees stealing gas and/or using vehicles without authorization

Unfortunately, there are bound to be a few bad apples in a fleet of 45 drivers. Let's just say you have five. Two employees use a company gas card once per week for 10 free gallons in their own vehicles. Three drivers use their work trucks on weekends to run errands and work side jobs. How much does that cost you?

The unauthorized gas card usage: $320 per month at $4.00 per gallon.
The unauthorized vehicle usage: $200 per month (assumed) in additional fuel.
This saves you 2% off your monthly fleet bill.

4. More efficient routing

Google Maps in JETT-Track software can help you make more efficient routes. Our customers have reported that better routing and dispatching can cut 10 miles of unnecessary driving per day.

That's 450 miles per day that could be trimmed down and will generate a savings of about 8% per month.

We have summarized our findings below:

Vehicles 45
Gallons per driver/monthly 200
Monthly fleet fuel bill ($4.00/gallon) $36,000
- Reduced speed savings $5,400
- Reduced idling savings $1,800
- Unauthorized usage savings $720
- Better routing savings $2,880

TOTAL SAVINGS $10,800
