Q – Do I need life cover?
A – If you have people, (usually family members) who are financially dependent on you and would suffer if your income wasn't present; then yes you could benefit from life cover.
Q – How much life cover do I need?
A – It completely depends on your personal circumstances. How much life cover you need will depend on how significant your outgoings are. These include your; mortgage, bills, living expenses, loan repayments, education costs etc. It may also be worth thinking about additional expenses that may occur if you were not around, e.g. the cost of additional child care.
Q – Can my job affect my premiums?
A – Yes; if you have a 'high risk' occupation your premiums could be higher due to the increased likelihood of death. These occupations include: armed forces, fishermen, work in the gas or oil industry, working at great heights etc.
Q – Can a medical condition influence my premiums?
A – Again yes; if a condition you have puts you at a greater risk or death or injury then it can have an adverse affect on your premiums. Not all medial conditions will affect your life cover so it's important to talk to an adviser.
