Gambling is a boom business throughout the world and internet casinos are a part of that booming business. Even though many nations are trying to inhibit gambling, the industry is still a major growth industry.

The United States is trying to prohibit the use of online casinos and gambling through the enactment of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act which will bar the financial institutions from processing transactions between U.S. players and their gambling companies. These forced most of the major and stock exchange listed gambling companies out of the U.S. market leaving the market to the lesser firms.

Hungary has tried to bar internet gambling as being illegal under their laws and most online casinos won't accept South African customers because of the legal structure there. The South Africans responded by establishing their own online casino businesses.

For the rest of the world, internet gambling is an expanding growing market. Europe is viewed as a major growth market for online casinos, especially the mobile phone versions. Many online companies are expanding or trying to expand in the European market, as in Spain and Germany.

The European Union seems inclined to open their markets to the online gaming companies and many gaming companies view online bingo as the entry into new markets. Asia is also a lucrative market for the gambling companies. Don't look for the online casino market to disappear due to legislation in the different countries. Look for more regulation as the industry grows.
