Apparently, almost $1 million of illegal tickets were purchased via the black market during the past World Cup by Jack Warner the vice president of FIFA. Some reports given by a recognized news paper confirmed that Jack made an amount close to $933,000 with the sale of the tickets.
Actually there have been audit reports made by the company Ernst & Young for the FIFA but FIFA itself is trying to check first carefully, because they do not want to be involved in prejudgment according what Andreas Herren said, spokesman of the Federation. The fact will be discussed on Friday in Zurich.
This is a controversial situation for Warner who is from Trinidad & Tobago, to face this kind of struggle and avoid an expulsion as well as to be able to remain as part of the organization.
But the question is; how to avoid this accusation if he was selling tickets at up to three times their face value and a confidential report confirmed that tickets under customer reference number 201498572 were transferred into the black market breaking the ticketing general terms and conditions placed by FIFA.
How was he discovered?
Antonio Gallicchio the boss of Swiss Travel complained to FIFA on June 20 through a phone call, that he had not received a number of World Cup tickets he bought. Ernst & Young established that Warner had bought 180 tickets with a credit card for a total amount of 100 euros each, and after the same ones were bought from Gallicchio for the outrageous price of 400 euros each one.
Warner has been also involved in an accusation for violating the conduct code of the FIFA, when his travel company, Simpaul affirmed exclusive rights to sell his country's entire World Cup ticket allotment.
