The surgery is done for the cause of removing the fatty tissues that choke the space for the air to move in the body. This surgery is called as the somnoplastry where radio frequency technique is used to shrink or remove the soft palate's tissues. The other common way is the uvulopalatoplasty. This is also a technique that removes fat from behind the throat and the neck. This is done with the help of carbon dioxide lasers.

If avoiding snoring is simple than why not to take preventive measures in the initial stages to avoid surgery chances.
